Research Interests: Applied Linguistics; Chinese Heritage Language Maintenance; Bilingualism; Second Language Acquisition

My current research explores the bilingual development of Chinese heritage language learners and how to transform cultural clashes into instructional resources in the bi-cultural heritage language classrooms. I am also interested in the cross-curricular literacy development in dual language programs. The Applied Linguistics emphasis has provided me with a theoretical basis to understand language acquisition and development and also language teaching and learning.
